Preaching to the Choir?

By Josh Liggin

For the past couple of years Keith Boone has leading a devotion on a Wednesday night towards the end of December. Now in my opinion Keith usually always “hits the nail on the head” with his choice of topics. That is, he seems to always present things for our consideration that are timely and, quite frankly, things that we need to hear. These past two Decembers, Keith has challenged us with a list of some possible “New Year’s Resolutions”. Though I feel that these challenges are needed, unfortunately I am afraid that he is simply “preaching to the choir”. Most of the folks that heard Keith’s suggestions this past month were probably the ones who are already implementing those kinds of things.

So, with that in mind, I asked Keith to share the notes for his devotional talk with me and allow me to put them in the bulletin. I felt that the things he presented were worthy of consideration by a wider audience than was present on the Wednesday that he originally presented these ideas. I have taken the liberty of “re-grouping” Keith’s suggestions into three main categories (Men, Women, and Everyone), as well as adding a few suggestions of my own. I hope that we will all be inspired to make some changes in the areas where we may currently be lacking.

This bulletin is being published for the purpose of encouraging a further study of the Word of God. Editor – Josh Liggin
